I may just mow with the push mower just to get the exercise. Not sure where next week's hike is going to be.

I somehow missed this post. Great photos. Good trails to ride a horse on and avoid the walking part...
Very beautiful.

Its not much fun hiking on horse trails. For the most part they keep them separate. But they do have lots of them for both.RanchRoper wrote:I somehow missed this post. Great photos. Good trails to ride a horse on and avoid the walking part...

Wonderful pictures Sir Henry, hiking is great exercise, I need to do more of it. My wife, kids and I are in the process of moving and in doing so will be closer to areas that I can hike again and closer to excellent turkey and deer hunting. That is some beautiful country you live in.

It must be your turn to lead. Please post photos. They're always fun. Have fun browsing in the gun store, too.Sir Henry wrote:Tomorrow is another hike. I'm thinking Mount Si. Its close and there is a neat gun store on the way.

Curious, SH. On your hiking journeys in WA State, do you ever see Scotch Broom plants? I know when I lived in OR they were abundant along hillsides. They don't grow here in MO, and I had never seen them until I moved to the Northwest.
I remember traveling some winding OR roads, coming around a curve, and with the sun shining on a hillside the splash of yellow color was astonishing to see! (The second picture is like those views). We often saw a lot of this plant as we traveled wooded highways from inland to the coast. This is what they look like.
The Pacific Northwest is sure a beautiful part of our country!

Re: Hike Report: West Tiger #3 Summit
Thanks for sharing. I used to hike and backpack a lot. But it's been a while. Both knees are bone on bone. I still walk a bit and do the big hill on my property. But I have to do it in small or easy doses. One thing I miss about work since I retired (probably the only thing except the money) is my twice daily walk. Since 2001 I was in a location that sat on a 30 acre lot. We used to do a morning and afternoon walk every day. A couple of laps. Ended up being a couple of miles a day rain, snow, or shine normally.
I used to be a long distance cyclist for many years. Both on and off road. Still have several bikes. We have been locked into almost daily rain for a month here. Today was beautiful. If the weather holds I'll be on the bike tomorrow. I can ride or walk a bit. Just have to balance out effort vs distance. I can do moderate amounts of either but rarely both.
It keeps you young and fit!
