A question for the experts (this means you!)

Ok.. A customer of mine gave me a copy of a photo of some of Pancho Villa's men today. My question is what kind of rifle is the guy on the far right holding? Is it a Henry? I don't know and I thought I would put the question to the experts. The photo is from about 1911-1912.

The original Henry rifle didn't have a wood forearm - that is most likely a Winchester - maybe an 1866 "Yellowboy"?

Hard to tell from the pic, buy, yeah, it's a Winchester, though not likley a Model 94, which was hugely popular with Villa's fighters. Same for the Mausers you see the revolutionaries carrying in the old pics.

Yea- about ten minutes after I posted it I noticed the wood forearm. Looks like a pretty salty group of fellas! I wouldn't want to mess with them!

The guy on the left looks like he may have ties to Genghis Khan. I bet he was a pussycat! The guy on the right indeed has a Winchester 1866, but it’s the saddle ring carbine. There were 4 slightly different iterations of the 1866, but it’s too hard to see in the photo whether this is an early or later version. They must have been using the earliest iPhone to take that photo as the pixel count is low. Really low.
