I remember pulling up beside a classic vette rumbling at a stoplight years ago and looking over to see a little old lady behind the wheel. I figured Grandma borrowed her son's car. Being funny, i revved the engine in my stock 68 Firebird a couple times. She looked over and smirked. When the light changed, she smoked the tires thru the light. I rolled up to the vette at the next light and only then noticed her personalized plate...

"ITZ MINE"

i never forgot that lesson.

Ha a guy in Dallas challenge me at a stoplight. Then I looked at his car - a new Bently. I turned right when the light went green.

Dave I think the Hellcat puts out about 750HP. In the second video, the driver (who I don't think owns that Vette) comes back with his Mustang (1K HP) and dusts ("Owns" as Dahliathemeh puts it

The Mustang is a dual over head cam 32 valve engine and weighs 3705. The Challenger is a 16 valve push rod engine and weighs a whopping 4408 lbs. A 1000 HP Mustang definitely has a lot of work done to it. Put three 230 lb.passengers along with the driver in the Mustang and see what the out come might be. Hennessey has upgraded super charged versions of the Demon with power ranges from 1000 Hp to 1500 HP and more.

The Hell Cats were built more for straight line performance on the drag strips and not built for road racing. The twin turbo Porche will run around 10.2's in the quarter and the Dodge Demon will run around 9.6's. Last year in NHRA factory stock/XX the Dodge Challenger won the championship by winning five of the seven Nat'l events even though NHRA was adding weight to the Dodge at most events to try to level the playing field because Chevy and Ford were not winning. Dodge was also the only model to get in to the 7 second range in the quarter mile in factory stock/XX. NHRA is very biased toward Chevrolet and will do anything they can to put Chevy first. When Chevy was the top dog the year before not 1 lb. of weight was added to it the whole year. They have already stated that over the winter they will have to make some rule changes to get Chevy and Ford more competitive to run with the Gen. 3 Hemi's. Leah Pritchett was the champion this past summer. She showed all the men how to win races and the championship.

Hey Bandit, excellent point about weight. And to think the Mustang driver was boasting about leaving the seats installed.

As far as the videos, I'm so naive I can't even tell who won. I see a time/speed and figure that's the winner, but which lane ?

Henry88, The win lights are across the top of the timing board at the end. Hard to see from an angle in the day time in bright sun. The lanes are timed separate. You could run a slower time and still win based on a better reaction time if you get the jump on the other driver. If the car is set up right and don't lose traction torque gives you the ET and horse power gives you the speed. Leah is fantastic off the line most of the time but all drivers can mess up. She is one of the top drivers also in top fuel. She breaks records and sets new ones quite often in her top fuel dragster and now she also is setting records in the Challenger. Her Hemi powered top fuel dragster makes 11,000 horse power. That is 1375 HP per cylinder. One cylinder is about 500 HP more than a complete Nascar engine makes. All top fuel dragsters and funny cars run an all aluminum Hemi engine based on a 426 Chrsler Hemi design. No matter what brand the car says on it is the same engine for all of them. Watch Leah get that 11,000 HP monster down the track.

Mr Henry 88 all the girl drivers are gorgeous because of make up tutorials in you tube. Just like girl mechanics always look like pinup models. Every other female mechanic I ever met looked like me. Unless they were hunting for a man.

I go to NHRA National events. Leah looks as good in person as she does on you tube or any where else. She is rated as the hottest female driver in motor sports right now.
