Having spent a few years in Montana I'm always interested in stuff like this.

A quite interesting article. Especially the question posed by the emeritus Smithsonian curator about the fact that Dr. Crow "...personally knew four of those scouts that had been with Custer. So, I mean, how can you deal with that?" That is huge to have long-ago history alive in the present. The question could not have been better phrased.

I almost bought a piece of land by the National Bison Range out here in Western Montana a year or so ago.
