sold my Marlin 1894P

I recently sold my 1894P 44 Magnum. I needed to come up with some extra cash and decided not to sell a 39A as I shoot the 39A guns and not so much with the 44 Magnum. It was a fairly rare model with the 16 1/4" barrel and ports but I made my decision on it not being used that it was the better one to sell. A guy from mid Ohio drove all the way back here to SW Pa. to see it and do the paper work for the transfer. I took it to my dealer to meet this guy and it never cleared the case it was in and he was already saying he would take it. It was mint condition and was never hunted with but no box and papers. I bought it about 6 years ago and rarely shot it as it never thrilled me like my two 444 Marlins do. I could have maybe been ok with out selling it but the contractor doing the home repairs due to the car accident has really been taking us to the cleaners on hours and milking this for all he can get. Six months now since the accident and still not finished. We are going to be around 8-9 thousand of our own money over what he wrote up and the insurance paid. I did very well on the price I got for the 1894P and I won't miss it because of not being attached to it any way. The 1894P is on the right beside my 39TDS also with the 16 1/4" barrel.

nice looking rifles, can well understand how you hated for your 44 mag to go .... I had our Henry BBS 44 out at a range yesterday and really enjoyed firing it

Bandit, as someone who periodically purges our gun collection of guns that are seeing little, if any, use, I do understand. Just not enough room in the safe for guns that collect dust.

That 1894 in 44 mag is a great gun for carrying in the woods, but the couple I've had were less than pleasant to shoot at the range and that's the shooting I do.

I think you were smart to keep the 39A. It's a gun that is always fun to shoot. Also, Remington is still making the 1894, at least, but not the 39A. Have seen prices rising on the 39s at local gun shows, though I did manage to snag a showroom condition 1981 vintage 39A, last month, at an excellent price of $550. Really the exception, though. Seeing a lot more 39A Marlins north of $700, now, and some in rough shape, to boot.

Bandit, sad to see something like that go, as it sure was a purty one, but I think many of us periodically cull the herd a bit. Guns that don't get shot tend to bug me after awhile.

Those are two great looking rifles bandit. That 39 looks like one to take out often and have fun with.
