We love it when we travel in the Winter. If we lose power our house won't freeze up.
I wanted the 24KW but they were on back order so we settled for the 22.
It does the job.

51 this morning with heavy smoke from the local fires that started yesterday. High in the low 70’s due to both the cold front that brought yesterday’s gusty winds and the smoke layer blocking the sun. I should be loading my golf clubs in the car right now but one of my golf partners was evacuated yesterday so we had to postpone.

We had a 22KW Generac installed a few years back and love having it.
It will even power the whole house and my shop as well.

I installed a 10Kw generac a few years ago that powers all of the circuits in my 1400 sq ft house and garage, but not the 220 appliances (the Oven, Clothes Dryer, dishwasher, and AC). I lose power often (mostly to downed powerlines from tree limbs), but it's usually restored within several hours. I lost power for four hours last week. My main concern when installing it was running the well, the furnace, the sump pump, and the Fridge. Peace of mind. And a powered-up home entertainment system helps to pass the time during frightful weather.

Do you need a natural gas line (unless you have 3000 gallons of propane ) for the large generators to be practical for long term outages? I can't imagine hauling enough diesel or gas to keep it running for any length of time. I've had a portable propane/gas 7000 watt generator for around 5 years now but haven't had to use it yet, power outages are pretty rare here.

79 (RealFeel 90 @ 7PM) on Sun Aug 2nd .... we've had a few light showers move through .... they didn't bring much rain but sure pushed in very high humidity .... a chance of rain over the next 3 days but nothing serious mentioned in the forecast till mid week .... most items on our August calendar are medically related .... any more, that's pretty much the norm

I have two 100 gallon tanks that were installed for the generator (and my stovetop and propane fireplace logs) and that are remotely monitored for auto-refill. This setup should be useful for several days or more depending on the circumstances. So far, it's only been needed for a few hours at a time.
