All this revolver porn is making me “happy”

Well, this may not be a classic, but it is the latest one that I acquired. I wanted an inexpensive .357, and this one seemed right. It shoots nice! The one downside is the grip does not extend far enough on the trigger guard. So, the guard diggs in my index finger, after shooting a few full loads. Yet, I have not plans of getting rid of it. Hopefully, a better grip will come out.

I did contact Rossi about a grip. At the time, it did not have one. Some months later, it offers one at $120, which is about 1/3 of what I paid for the firearm. It is not that serious. So, I will wait, until a cheaper is offered. Until then, I will keep pulling the trigger.

Thank you Mags!!!! The price has came down a bit. Yet, it is more than I am willing to pay. I am willing to pay about $40 or so. That is about what I paid for a set for my S&W. Uncle Mike's, Hogue or Pachmayr are typically around that price. I am in no hurry. So, I am willing to wait, until the demand increases for grips for Rossi. But, I do appreciate your effort!

I usually don't accessorize my firearms, but this one should get a nice leather sling.
I am not sure about scoping it. I like Burris scopes, they make a nice Droptine model for .22lr The rifle came with a rail.

Traditionally Mannlicher stocks are not scoped. But people also say that about lever actions and a lot of us scope them.

I agree 100%. There is this thing called "eyesight".
I was thinking about having protective glasses made with my diopter adjustment. It's not much maybe +1 and +1.25. It's the way they make the lenses match my eyeball curvature. Else I could just use the off the shelf +1 safety glasses I've been using in the past.

S&W 67 -5, 4" bbl, the Stainless Steel version of the famous Model 15 or otherwise known as "K 38 Combat Masterpiece".
Besides the Model 64 it is the last Model chambered in .38 spl P+ with 4" barrels.
It came to me at a surprisingly low price via Turner's used gun counter. Went there the same day, made a down payment & called it dibs. Now wearing smooth Herret's Walnut grips.





It replaces the Lady Smith I posted earlier, which was sold as a consignment at my LGS. When I picked up the check, I happen to catch a glimpse of the DL copy on the buyer's paper work. Indeed a pretty lady who DROS'd it. Everything falls in place.

Other than shooting 357 in a Henry rifle shooting 38+p in a K frame Smith is the greatest joy in shooting.

The other part, .357 mag from a Henry rifle, I have to experience that yet.

After a number "missteps", I hope I am on the right path now.

I just came back from Turner's. I DROS'd a Henry Big Boy Steel in .357 mag. New gun, new model w/ side loading gate.
I really hope I got it right this time.

No .45-70, no Carbine and no brass bling, adding a popular, powerful round which has plentiful availability.
It'll be my 4th Henry Lever action acquisition. Hopefully this time it'll stick.

Honestly, I don't think they should be that pricey. Most if it is thanks to taxation. I contemplated and evaluated a multitude of offerings, different makes, used private seller, etc. It took me longer then I'd like it to take. I can't round out this chapter without a Lever Action and Henry was the way to go. Soon it will be added to the count.

Even without the taxation, Henry's have gotten extremely expensive. Like John Deere, one now pays more for the brand recognition than ever before. I think I paid about $700 for the 30-30 in brass for my first Henry. Every caliber I'd have an interest in now, the rifles are close to a $1000 and more.

I think you'll really enjoy the .357 you bought. Henry are pricey, but still fun.
