Re: Our Morning Coffee and Weather
Overcast, 61 degrees, 76% humidity
Mostly cloudy through mid morning, then becoming sunny, with a high near 77.
Calm wind becoming north northwest around 5 mph in the afternoon.
I'm starting carpentry work on our mailbox. I plan to replace the posts with stronger ones.
It's a complex with seven mailboxes, a shelf for packages, and a roof.
It's been knocked down three times, once by a school bus backing up and twice by
a Bobcat plowing snow.

Re: Our Morning Coffee and Weather
65 sticky degrees this morning with higher than normal humidity. (Out of respect to those who endure real humidity I won’t mention a number
)
Today is a fire alert day for high temps 97 and low humidity. Yeah I know, a contradiction to the above sentence. We start the day in the 50’s and drop to the teens by noon. Then tomorrow brings stronger winds with a Red Alert Friday evening into Saturday. The difference between a Fire Alert and a Red Alert is the wind. Today is light winds and Friday into Saturday is gusty winds. We have two large fires burning in the central part of the state but nothing much right here in the Spokane area. I saw yesterday that dave77’s area had a high of 108
.
Got a guy coming this morning to install a roller shade on the slider door. We have vertical blinds now and the new setup will be a powered shade. Our first venture into powered shades.

Re: Our Morning Coffee and Weather
Overnight thunder, lightening and rain. Got a couple of good downpours. But still dry under the tree canopy.
62' and cloudy this morning. Expected to clear off in the afternoon and maybe make 83'.

Re: Our Morning Coffee and Weather
A warm one at 68 this morning and a little smoky. High today is expected to hit 95. Back to the 80’s for highs next week. Today is a Red Alert Day for wildfires in central Washington State and for me here in Eastern Wa tomorrow is our Red Alert Day. Winds to 25 gusting to 35, hot and low humidity. Good day to stay home and monitor the fire situation in case of an evacuation.
Today I’m seeing a surgeon for a consult for hernia repair surgery. Doesn’t sound fun.

Re: Our Morning Coffee and Weather
temperature moderating, rain hanging around .... 72 (RealFeel 75) at noon on Fri July 24th .... forecasted high 77 followed by an overnight low of 69 .... just under 3" of rain since yesterday .... none falling right now but it is supposed to return .... sure hope so, our drought is still very much in control ....
Re: Our Morning Coffee and Weather
It's too hot. I had 105 Wed and 104 yesterday, only supposed to get to 99 today and then low 90's high 80's for the next week. Better but still too hot for me.
My creek is completely dry. Doing a little hand watering with the well but don't want to take a chance on running it dry. A good rainfall would be nice but not likely here, not unusual to not get any significant rain until Oct.
Re: Our Morning Coffee and Weather
I had laparoscopic hernia surgery years ago and it wasn't bad, not much pain. I don't think I spent more than a day or two in the hospital and then a week off work. No heavy lifting for a few weeks.Hatchdog wrote: ↑Fri Jul 24, 2026 9:46 amA warm one at 68 this morning and a little smoky. High today is expected to hit 95. Back to the 80’s for highs next week. Re: Our Morning Coffee and Weather
I've had two done. Back in 2002 I had the first one, a small one, and it was a few days in the hospital and a lot of discomfortment.
Last year I had a larger one done and it was a piece of cake. I was kept overnight and the next afternoon went for beer and wings
with Carol and the gang. Of course they thought I was nuts.
Lots of improvement in procedures and pain killers.
Gettrr Done!
