New Boat

Having a place on a lake just isn't the same without a boat. Last year the old faithful of 20 years needed a fuel injector replaced. It lasted one tankful of gas. It started doing the same thing, not getting fuel in the same cylinder. The repair shop wasn't very helpful and we decided time for a new one.
Mary liked the pontoon boat features but not the type of hull. A deck boat was the answer. We like an aluminum boat and two companies make them. We decided on Princecraft and ordered it from the nearest dealer to camp. It was delivered this week at camp. The owner of the dealership delivered it and took old faithful for the trade in. He was very knowledgeable and took his time explaining everything. He had lunch with us and then headed back.
The boat is fantastic. We took our time picking the options and accessories and it sure paid off. It has two fishing seats up
front and plenty of nice seating. The whole thing is great. It packs a lot of features into 19 feet. Mary can lay in the sun on the back cushion while I fish up front.

Looks like the perfect solution to differing purposes.

I like the detachable front seats that allow for standing or sitting while you're fishing. The rest of the boat is very nicely designed. This one should give you a long time of good times. Congrats. I'm guessing there's a live well in there someplace, too. Pictures in action please.

I've had several aluminum boats through the years and enjoyed each one. Anecdotally, I owned a little aluminum rowboat with an outboard in the late seventies. At the time, there was a Nuclear Power Reactor on shore of the CT River just about a mile upstream. It had a canal for hot-water discharge that attracted lots of fish and a menagerie of other wild, hungry creatures, including me. That water was so hot that the deck of boat required shoes whenever we explored/exploited it. Great fishing and bird watching, though.

There’s a place in Spokane that is similar to it. The water cools an aluminum plant.

That's a really, really, REALLY nice boat. I like the choice of going with an outboard too.
My family had a couple pontoon boats and they're great for getting a group out on the water, but there are drawbacks. Great fishing platforms, and we could waterski with one, but it didn't like tight turns. In tight turns, the outboard would find the channel behind the pontoon, and cavitate. Straight was fine, but you couldn't whip anyone skiing. The deckboats are such a huge step forward from there.

Congrats Dave! What's the name for the boat, and what lake are you running it on?

Beautiful and useful boat. Looks like a 115 Merc, that is going to scoot! Nice layout and beautiful paint.

It is a 115 Mercury. It has a lot more pep than the 75 Etec on the 16 foot fish and ski boat we had. We could never get a skier up with that boat/motor. It's going to be named "Haulin Bass II". Haulin Bass the first was our last boat. My brother in law came up with the name. I stenciled it on the last one, but it faded out. Gotta use some paint this time that will last. This one is our last. We are on Upper Saranac Lake. It's a pretty large lake between Tupper Lake and Saranac Lake. We love that area.
I found a beautiful fiberglass boat that was used and immaculate for a song, but we wanted aluminum. That lake is pretty well marked, but there are rocks and such in places and I think aluminum would be more forgiving.
I too like the easily removable seats. We have a 24v 70 lb trolling motor for it too. The live well is right up front.
