Buffalo Wy.
Re: Buffalo Wy.
We left out early this am for a drive around the Big Horns. Over the top of Powder River pass and down to Ten Sleep. First pick is Meadowlark Lake. After stopping there we headed down the mountain to Ten Sleep and on in to Worland. Turned north at Worland for Basin and Greybull. At Greybull we turned back east to Dayton and Ranchester. The jumped back on I-90 and headed back home. Second pick is after we went through Shell Wyoming up the canyon. The last pick is from a pullout on the Dayton side. It was a nice drive and the wife and I both enjoyed seeing the Big Horns. The drive up Shell Canyon is really nice.

When we got back to the park both the wife and I were hungry so up the road from the park in the Cowboy Bar and Grill. Locals say they have good burgers. Wife had one and so did I. Mine was called the Vaquero Burger. BBQ sauce with bacon cheese and jalapenos. The burgers and fries were good. Inside you can save a horse and ride a barstool

Re: Buffalo Wy.
Wonderful pics Al. Definitely rekindles my desire to visit Wyoming.
Re: Buffalo Wy.
My pictures dont do this area justice at all. The Big Horns are just awesome and have always been one of my favorite areas of the state. People here are friendly and its very laid back. There is some really nice camping areas up top and tons of space to ride your 4 wheeler or Jeep if thats what what you like.

This was the view from my camp this morning. Yes, the Bighorns aren’t hard to look at.

A couple more pictures, these taken 2 or 3 weeks ago when the flowers were going strong. Had to add one with Layla the wonder beagle.

Re: Buffalo Wy.
Today the wife and I ventured into town again and went to the Occidental Hotel Bar. Neat place inside and all old west memorabilia inside. Lots of mounts some full size some just heads. On top of the piano was a Wolf that really gives you an idea how big they are. Wolves are a new controversial subject in Colorado where they have been reintroduced with a lot of backlash. There is a full mount of a bear that overlooks the bar on one end but the lighting in there wasnt to good to get a good picture. I did take some other photos seen below
I guess my picture of the bar did include the bear and the camera must of adjusted for the light. Also for those who remember Longmire the Red Pony Chips and salsa were for sale there. You could also buy the hot sauce to take with you in the main lobby.
Everything about this place is all Old West. The TV was playing old west movies in black and white. Hope I havent bored the forum with all the pictures. Its been a cool time here Both the wife and I have had a good time in Buffalo Wyoming. I could easily live here. I know winters are cold but Im not around then anyway. I ran into a guy at the grocery story who lives in his RV up on Powder River Pass in the summer and in the winter he goes to Arizona.

Re: Buffalo Wy.
The school I worked at had an assembly where they brought in a grey wolf. It was tame but the handler did keep it on it's leach. I was amazed at how big it was, I had always imagined them to be the size of a big German Shepard but it was considerably larger than that.
Here's a video that shows the size of a big grey wolf.

Our spot at the KOA came with a gas grill and a solostov. Tonight we decided to fire up the stove. First time I have ever used one and it’s really pretty neat
