I caught a mouse

Somewhere somehow they are able to get into our house. Carol has traps under the sink and I take one out every day.
sometimes two. The RV however is no problem. I have the scent packs spread around and the mice seem to hate them.

Likewise here. With the colder weather we're getting a lot move in. Thought I have all the outdoor foundational/siding places closed up. I'll have to check all that again. Otherwise I think they dart in unseen as we open and close the garage doors. I've gone through quite a few glue traps the past month. I've had no luck with the scent packs. The ones I have look/smell like mint scented millet, which the mice seem to like

Mouse-X was delivered yesterday. I have few places outside the foundation where I will bait. I have some concern of the mice eating the stuff, finding there way inside the house, then dying someplace where I can't get at them and stinking.

They die dehydrated and won’t stink. I’ve used it for decades.

I have a few more, including ones where the mouse makes it all the way back to the cattails. If they survive the swim and make it to the cattails, I leave them to their own modes of survival.
I'll have to convert them to GIFs so I can post them.

I put them in the tractor shed in hopes of protecting tractor, ATV, riding mower and Kawasaki Mule wiring from field mice.

I also didn't know off hand. Looking it up, a 1 pack of 4 is about $5 while a 2 pack of 8 is about $8. Over time the cost can add up to be more expensive over mechanical traps, still I prefer the glue trap convenience over the mechanical traps.

She Who Must Be Obeyed (SWMBO) enjoys bird watching and during the fall and winter months, she maintains bird feeders behind the house so that on nice days, she can sit on the back porch, have a cup of hot tea and watch birds feeding. I am sometimes surprised at her ability to identify different bird breeds, whether male or female, where they summer or winter, etc. During the summer months, she does the same with hummingbird feeders.

In any event, several years ago, SWMBO bought a fair sized bag of bird seed/feed at a local store and left it in her Camry for several days. When she removed it from the car, she noticed there was a hole in the top of the bag. She didn't give it much thought until one day soon after, a mouse looked at her through a vent on the car dash. An unhappy SWMBO and I had enough sense to not comment about the cause of the presence of the mouse.

I used a sticky mouse trap on the floor to catch the wee rodent and for an hour or two, I was in good favor with SWMBO. Later, I was changing the cabin air filter and discovered a mouse mansion made of what appeared to be bird seed/feed bag remnants on top of the filter. Somehow, common sense or self control got the better of me and I didn't comment about the cause of the mouse mansion.

For that reason, I prefer the sticky traps.

Similar experience here, though ours was with both a Camry and a Prius. We also learned not to leave bird seed in the car. When we get home the seed goes immediately into an outdoor steel jobsite box. Mice were getting into the cabins by chewing through the cabin filters. Both car's cabin filters fit in removable trays. I cut out a sheet of 1/4" mesh hardware cloth and put it in the trays with the filters. I still get a mouse nest from time to time on the cabin filter, but they can't get through the hardware cloth and into the cabin from there. I've had nests show up in the engine air filter box too, so have hardware cloth in there too. My pickup doesn't have a cabin filter so I make sure to leave the climate control set to 'recirculate' rather than outside air pass through.

I’m seeing lots of mice signs in the motor home and am catching about one a day. To solve the problem I let my resident rodent control officer loose in the motor home.

I go to Ace or Fleet Farm and get Fresh Cab or Cab Fresh or whatever brand they have. It's either Balsam or mint and very pungent. I throw them in all the storage compartments and some in drawers inside as well. Seems to work very well.

I hate mice/rodents. I use Combat rodent pellets around the property.

Last Friday truck quit hd to tow to garage. Mouse nest in the air box all the way to the throttle body. $150 garage bill plus $115 tow. Went to glue traps. Hate to use them as they are not humane. Caught one this am. Forced to use bucket of water for s final swim. Must be getting soft in old age . Only good news is the tow is covered by insurance. Have used dryet sheets , peppermint spray , dcon, electric traps and jaw traps to no avail.

I put 1/4 inch hardware cloth in the air intakes of my vehicles. Both engine and dashboard. Like you I've tried a lot of things. Most recently Mouse-X, which the mice are seemingly ignoring. The pellets are untouched. I also use glue traps most effectively. If the mice are still alive, they and the glue trap go into a baggy and then get slammed against a door jamb. I also anchor the glue traps as the mice sometimes flip them over and then there is glue where I don't want it and it is hard to cleanup. Especially if stuck to carpet. With the amount of damage I've had from mice I got over being inhumane.
