It's been that way, more or less, since the 1960's. For a while there were adhoc signs at the border, that said "...enjoy your visit, then go home"

I remember those signs.

I actually thought you all were joking, lol. Would sure like to see some pictures of those.

Mags, you know those are all memes. You won't find an actual photo of an official state sign that said that. But, the sentiment seems to have been expressed often enough that there are ...memes. I have no plans to visit, though. It's way too far out (of my way).

The top left and middle bottom were actual signs (not sanctioned by the state, but placed by OR citizens). The bottom left was a bumper sticker. The upper right is from an old newspaper story.
