I have to use a full face mask. Cover nose and mouth. I sleep on my side and the mask I been using this last year or so works pretty good. I have good nights and I have bad nights. Luckily mostly good. But gonna check out the chin strap. I've asked my sleep doc about different ideas I researched, and he says I could try them but with mine being so severe, he didn't think any will work.

UPDATE ....
after a good bit of testing and multiple virtual conferences, it has been determined that I meet all qualifications for Inspire Medical Systems Implant Surgery .... that said, it ain't gonna happen .... as noted, I've used CPAP machines for many years that have given good to OK results .... even though my level of good sleep is compromised and leaves much to be desired, the fact is the CPAP works for me .... because I answered all questions honestly, Medicare will not pay for the Inspire Surgery .... if I had of told them that I am one who can't stand the CPAP mask and/or other equipment so I will not take it out of the closet. they would probably pay for the implant .... I checked to see how much it would cost for me to pay for it out of pocket .... the implant itself cost $30,000 and the charges related to having it installed would run an additional $10,000 to $20,000 (or more) .... those numbers pretty well ended my efforts and have resigned me to staying with CPAP equipment

Like I said I hate my CPAP and have not worn it for some time, need to make an attempt at using it before my next sleep doctor appt.
I don't know if I would qualify for the surgery even if I lost some weight but another downside to it is that my doctor told me the success rate is only 70%.

that's pretty much what the surgeon who I spoke with said .... its still a fairly new operation which will most likely raise its success rate over time .... folks who need to use a CPAP machine but for whatever reason do not do so have a 0% success rate .... for them, 70% is really worth the gamble
