I really, really wish that the UK government would allow us to purchase handguns once more, but I'm old enough and ugly enough to realize that it will probably never happen.

It is a 66-2 Combat .357 Magnum.

The grips are after market Hogue rubber finger groove. They work great. I still have the original wood grips that I changed out. I changed them because I was banging the crap out of my knuckle on the bottom of the trigger guard when blasting .357 all day long. The rubber grips finger grooves keep my knuckle off the trigger guard. I give them a big thumbs up.

S&W sure make a huge number of revolvers. From your picture, it did look like you had a larger caliber...I really like the .357 Magnum cartridge.

In looking over my Ruger SP101 .357 Magnum, I still think your grooves are a little "deeper" than mine. Maybe that's the case to handle your K-frame revolver. Mine is a J-frame. Like you, I put on a Hogue Mono-Grip and kept the original wood/rubber Ruger grips. They are really cool-looking, but just don't do the job handling .357 Magnum rounds. You're right on -- the Hogue grips really do a great job! The only time the grips (me, too) are challenged is when I run through some .357 hunting rounds like Doubletap 180gr Hard Cast FNGC ammo. That is a wake-up call for sure!

BTW, I'd really like the "Classic" line of S&W revolvers on the market now. The one that really catches my eye is the blued Model 10 in .38 S&W Special +P caliber. I think it would be really fun to shoot...and own.

Coach, I like Smith & Wesson revolvers. I really like the wood on metal look too. I use Tyler T grips on my service stocked revolvers. It fills the space behind the trigger guard nicely. I'll see if I can get a picture posted of one.

Only revolver I own is a S&W J frame. Bought it for CCW and love it. Took a few trips to the range and a couple hundred rounds to get used to the action and 300lb trigger pull but now I'm a big fan. Might pick up a 442 to pair with my 642!
