Are we allowed to talk any politics on the new forum?

Post by Coach » Mon Mar 21, 2016 2:01 am

:?: .....

The old rules were pretty rigid and it was G rated for kids. I never saw any kids on there.

I was just wondering what the rules will be

Never mind l just read the Lounge fine print

Coach,

I'm thinking of making it PG this time. I'm not interested in talking politics or religion yet. i may make a sub forum for those who are inclined. If people want to give an opinion on a sub forum like that, I'll consider it. I have to discuss it with Sir Henry of course. The old site was doing well with the tight rules.

I would be interested in a sub-forum, if we have one.

If you decide to open that door I would open it slowly. Maybe just allow what applies to firearms and 2nd amendment stuff for now. See how that works out.

I would like to see this forum stay as civil as possible. The forums that I have been on with political sections tend to get people fired up. And then they either get mad and leave or start insulting each other. I also would like to see this forum be accessible to younger shooters.

Coach, I never thought otherwise.

As I reflected on this point from the time I took over as an admin on the old site, through to the point I decided to start this new website, I could not help but think the best thoughts of all the members, their on line behavior, and the genuine comradeship we all seemed to have together.

Affiliating with Henry Repeating Arms and others who have come forward, Skinner Sights for example, I would like to retain the above described experience and feeling I have come to enjoy. I want a similar atmosphere on this forum.

I appreciate everyone's opinion. I put the idea out that it might possibly be able to be modified, but nothing changed my mind, so:

The forum will remain free of politics, religion and anything above a G rating. Henry Repeating Arms wants to involve young people in shooting sports. The owner of Henry Firearms .org wanted the same. I too, want the same things. I want my 12 year old nephew to come here for firearms interest and leave with knowledge, not a bad experience or a bad taste. I think we have done fine so far and I see no reason to change things now.

No matter what our other opinions are, here we come together and have a shared experience that has and will continue to enrich the shooting community.
