Low carb/low sugar diet for my wife....

Post by fortyshooter » Wed Mar 01, 2023 3:16 pm

Is working great so far keeping her sugar down in the low 100's due to her being diabetic and that's with her on meds but no insulin. She was in the mid 200's and under doctor advice to correct it and so out with all the high carbs and keeping any sugar very low or none.
However it is causing me issues of losing weight especially with warm weather coming and me staying busy moving around taking care of stuff.
I burn all carbs up quick and can stay around 157 where I like to be while eating the good ol stuff and drinking my beer. Can't keep any goodies in the house cause she will sniff them out. My little motor starting to run on the lean side and may have to sneak out and grab a big Sonic double cheese burger for a snack in the afternoons!!

I've been on a low carb routine for years .... no, I can't say I stick to it completely .... what I can say is I can live with low carb much better than I could low protein

Best of luck with your wife. Mine had a stroke last year and was diagnosed with diabetes. She has been sticking with the program, and has lost a lot of weight, and gotten her blood sugar well under control. We are slowly weaning her off the long acting insulin, and are almost there.

I've been doing the low carb for the last couple years due to my A1C creeping upward. I found that so much harder to do than low sat fat.
