2022 Income Taxes

Hey Cooperhawk, what facility did you retire at. I flew for Continental and United Airlines for 28 years. Based in Newark, N.J. from 1981 until 1998 the based in Houston from 1998 until I retired in 2008. Maybe I flew through your sectors somewhere along the line. Probably asked you guys to go ‘Direct’ some where!

Hey Pete, I controlled for 15 years in Washington ARTCC, 1968 to 1983, then I transferred to Minneapolis ARTCC and retired from there in 2000, 17 more years. I was promoted to Supervisor in 1983 but still worked the sectors the entire time. Along with my military I had a combined time of 35 years. I'm pretty sure we talked at one time or another.
We are leaving in our motorhome tomorrow and one of our first visits will be with a United captain who was my hunting buddy when I lived in Virginia. He's been retired now for some time and has had a mild stroke. I haven't seen him for several years.
It's a small world.

Wish you safe journeys……have a great trip. I imagine your buddy flew out of Dulles. If he was based in EWR, I may have known him. I spent 12 years in the Air Force, before getting hired by People Express in 81. It’s nice to be retired!

Well in those days actually he was domiciled in DCA, but he flew in and out of IAD a lot. Then in about 1980 he transferred to
Den where he eventually retired from. He and I used to hunt and fish all over Northern Virginia in the mountains and on the
Potomac River. Those were good days.

I just checked and according to the IRS website our Federal Refund should be sent to our Credit Union today, as of right now that hasn't happened .... Maureen just checked our account at the Credit Union and the tax refund is in our account ....

My accountant is working on mine now. I should break even with the feds and get something back from Wisconsin.

We finally got our federal return yesterday, three weeks after our returns were accepted.

No longer an issue of concern...

The Internal Revenue Service will not collect federal taxes against state-issued inflation relief payments or tax refunds, the agency said Friday, a reprieve for tens of millions of taxpayers who received the subsidies.

HOWEVER, the news is reporting that now the Federal Government is looking to tax the state's rebate they did last year. Both state and Federal refunds are being held up and we may have to refile to take into account that rebate.

no surprise in hearing they want to tax every possible source ..... that said, I would find it a bit odd for them to stop the whole process and start over ..... I'm unsure what the state's tax rebate was .... our state taxes zero out to where we get nothing back
