Elizabeth II has passed

Post by BrokenolMarine » Thu Sep 08, 2022 2:01 pm

70 years on the throne, 96 years old. Tina was watching the breaking news when I came in from my woodshop. The Queen always struck me as dignified without being stuck up. I have seen many examples of her breaking out of the mold to show she cares about her subjects.
You can tell a lot about the character of a man...
by the way he treats those who can do nothing for him.

I don't look back at the things I can no longer do, I just look forward to the things I still can.

I'd like to think you're right on the money with that 'Marine. Dignity.

My heart breaks for our friends across the pond. The queen was the only one I ever knew, this is truly an end to an era.
I never take myself seriously....

My wife and I have watched the show The Crown and while it’s Hollywoodie it does give a nice history of her and her reign. I hope the show will continue. What an icon she was. My wife was just reading that when Ronald Regan visited her they rode her horses and when the Queen visited here she rode President Regan’s horses. Now that’s politics I can embrace. :D
