Getting more people to post/respond/participate

Post by Brando73 » Sun Oct 03, 2021 12:06 pm

This is a great forum on a subject that I love, Henry rifles. I wish I knew a way to get more people talking and showing their stuff. I learn so much from folks just like we have here. So much talent and so much to give. I also reload, love distance shooting and overall enjoy the gun community.
I plan on promoting others withe the same love of Henry products to come over. I belong to several forums with some really nice people with tons of knowledge about everything gun related as well as Henry's.

active forums tend to follow much the same aging process .... a few folks get together and start it .... being new, all discussions are new and threads tend to grow rather quickly .... over time active members come and go as a core membership becomes the forum's heart and soul .... numbers of new threads drop as the number of never discussed topics grows smaller and smaller .... as of this being typed :

our forum has a total of180,466 posts

on a total of 11, 861 topics

by 2,802 members

for forums to continue to grow they must attract new member, increase the number of discussions, and expand the range of topics while maintaining the atmosphere that attracts members .... for us, family oriented atmosphere is a driving force

I might add it runs in spurts also depending on the topic. There are quite a few threads where pictures have been posted of Henry Rifles from members here.

The posts tend to run in spurts. I was posting a lot more, then I got injured, and can't do much. It's painful to type, I can't work in the shop, can't do much around the farm, can't work on my berm, so I can't shoot. I could post about how many flowers are in the wallpaper, but the walls are painted.
I post now and then, comment when I can, but I am not one to post just to up my post count. LOL.

New folks, ask your questions, Old Members, or others will try and answer them, we'll rag on you in a friendly manner, because that's what family does. Something cool will come up and we'll all comment, then it will get quiet. Once I can work in the shop again, I'll post a tag along thread on a project, I promise.
You can tell a lot about the character of a man...
by the way he treats those who can do nothing for him.

I don't look back at the things I can no longer do, I just look forward to the things I still can.
