The only way I can relate is to recall Vietnam and the temps there.
It would often get in the 130s on the PSP where we worked on our Air Craft.
Course that was a very humid heat and during the monsoon it rained every afternoon.
We didn't have to worry about forest fires.
We ate salt tablets like candy and every morning one of us had to take the 3/4 ton
into the village where there was an ice plant. That was always the job of the new guy.
We would purchase several kilos of ice and several cases of Coke made by the
Indo China Bottling Company. We had a stock tank that we filled with ice and
Coke every morning. Man, that Coke sure did taste good.😁👌
VN had brutal heat and humidity. I remember drinking warm Ballantine beer, probably the nastiest beer on the planet, in that oppressive heat. The Army was kind enough to get us ready for VN’s temps by stationing us at Ft. Polk and Ft Rucker prior to our SE Asia adventure.

Oh yeah, only I was at Polk in January and February and it was cold and damp. Then Rucker and then Ft, Eustis, Va. They then gave me orders to Fort Benning and the 11th Air Assault, (which became the 1st Cav), but I fooled them on that and volunteered for Vietnam. Got the Vietnam in mid Summer. HOT! :o

I can’t imagine just how miserable being in Vietnam must have been. I was too young to go (turned 18 in 1975). But, for all the whining I’m doing about the current heat wave we are experiencing the 13% humidity makes it bearable. You guys in Vietnam in those temps and humidities have my respect!!!

Well, it was pretty hot all right, and then during Ia "Drang I was in the central highlands and it got cold there at night.
The grunts were sleeping out in the elephant grass with one blanket. It would get down to the 50s which is damn cold
when you are used to 100. :(

Hottest I saw here in Eastern Washington on the Idaho border was 109 at my house. 1895 farmhouse with no AC. Hit 88 degrees inside. Was completely tolerable. I even went out and did some weed eating for my dad at his ranch in Idaho.

Of course, I moved up here from Arizona about 8 years ago, so I'm used to the heat. Hottest I've ever been was at Fort Irwin, CA in the Mojave desert. 128 degrees. Had to wear gloves to climb onto your armored vehicle and if you stood too long on it, your boot soles would begin to melt. Crazy hot!.

My car thermometer on the way to work the other day...

Dang Dave, that’s some pretty hot forecasting for Wenatchee. So if you’re told to go to hell you can say, “already there”.
