I had my teeth surgically removed almost a year ago. I got the implants only on the bottom. My Dentist said that he didn't
think the tops were important because the uppers usually stay in place very well. So far he was right. I use a little of the
powder on the uppers and sometimes I can barely get them lose to clean them. The bottoms are another thing however.
When you first get the implants you will wake up with the dentures in your mouth, but they won't stay there long as it's
pretty uncomfortable, and your jaws restructure as you heal. They will adjust the plates several times during that process.
You will use various types of jell to keep them in place while you heal and you learn quickly that the bottoms are the problem.
I am well healed now. Took about six to eight months for my jaw line to realign and heal, but now I can eat whatever I want.
I only have two implants, both on the bottom and the plates just snap in place. I use the powder on the tops.

It sounds like you're talking about Clear Choice if they're saying four on top and four on the bottom. They can run the cost
up pretty quickly. My implants were about three grand apiece, which includes the surgeon and dentist. Then probably ten dental
visits after that to adjust. Check around with other plans.

I did not have any tooth aches, but my teeth were affecting my over all health. They were wore out and food would lodge between them and hurt. I was limited as to what I could eat. Now I can eat whatever I want although I do avoid tough beef. That still
is a problem. I would do it all over again.

As for pain, it was much easier than I expected. The Surgeon gave me pain killers but I only took them one day and then Tylenol was all I needed.

I have the post and screw implants on the bottom. My dentist is going to use me as his "guinea pig" for a group of dentists in training. I was lucky when I went to him before I retired. I had some teeth that didn't have permanent teeth below. I had caps on them since Jr High. I'm 67 now. He wanted me as a subject to help him train other dentists. So I'm getting my implants for "free". All I have to do now is come in for regular cleanings and he checks the screws and alignment. He has had to pull several teeth before he got to the implants. Very painless. Just a hard push down on the gums when setting the screws. I highly recommend the implants. They have really helped to realign my teeth.

More like $20k+ for the Clear Choice, I have a single implant that was almost $4000, counting all my crowns (at least 12 and a couple of replacements) I probably have paid at least that much at full cost. Insurance paid ½ on most of them, for a few years before I retired our insurance started paying 100% of crowns up to the $2000 yearly limit so I got as many done as I could before I retired.
