Re: Weird reality
I saw that and nothing there surprises me. The govts stance in the past is we cannot explain what is being seen or detected, and we certainly have no defense against whatever it is, so for now ignore it. Which is what they have been doing.
These sightings go all the way back to WWII when bomber squadrons had them fly through their formations. It's all documented.
I'll tell you one more. I worked as an Air Traffic Controller in a Control Center in Leesburg, Va. Centers are radar environments. Darkened rooms and all that stuff. Centers oversee all the airspace in the US with towers and radar approach controls rooms serving airports only. My neighbor up the street from me worked in Washington National towers radar room. One night he called me on a land line and asked if I saw them on my radar. I asked what, and he said targets were all over DC. I signed off and peaked up my radar and sure enough, there were dozens of targets zipping around DC. I called him back and said that I now saw them, and he replied that he didn't know what I was talking about. I got the picture. Later that night when we both got home he told me that a Supervisor had told him not to put anything more on a recorded line. No reports were filed.
I should explain the "peaking up the radar" thing. Most aircraft have a transponder and we use what is called "Secondary Radar" to paint them. Nice bright encoded targets. It's when we have an AC without a transponder, or one that has a failed transponder, that we peaked up our "Primary" radar to find them. Normally when we assumed a sector we would peak the radar for the day, but electronics and atmospherics change hour by hour so they require repeaking. Primary is raw radar.

The concern to me is whether any forthcoming explanations will kick over everyone's rice bowls or just be a big yawn.cooperhawk wrote: βTue May 18, 2021 3:42 pmI saw that and nothing there surprises me. And a question: Our military aircraft have the ability to detect when they are being painted by ground or airborne radar. So why have there not been any reports by our people of being painted by these objects? They'd have to have some kind of radar or equivalent sensor tech, I'd think.

Re: Weird reality
Our newest technology is in infra red and sonic sensors. With either of those platforms there is no indication to the target that they are being observed. I have seen Air Force cockpits with infrared heat seeking displays, and that was quite amazing and was over thirty years ago. I can only imagine what they have now days.GunnyGene wrote: βTue May 18, 2021 4:30 pmThe concern to me is whether any forthcoming explanations will kick over everyone's rice bowls or just be a big yawn.

I really think that if these entities meant us any harm we would know it by now. I also think that there may be more than one source of these phenomenon. Some of these sightings don't share the same qualities. Some are round, square, triangular, football shaped, ect.

Re: Weird reality
I'm actually more intrigued by the reactions of people whenever this subject comes up. Very few are open minded enough to entertain any serious thought of the possibility that human beings are not the end all/be all of life in this universe. It's usually summarily dismissed because it challenges deep and long standing beliefs; and that is psychologically unacceptable to many. That said, I don't know if UFO's ( that is extraterrestrial visitors) are any more, or any less, "real" than angels or demons or the many other such puzzling things. But I see no reason to automatically dismiss the possibility. I am fairly well acquainted with the scientific and religious arguments against ET's, but those arguments are less than persuasive since they are necessarily based on incomplete knowledge. Latest on the UFO front: Might be time to shoot one down if we can.
https://www.yahoo.com/news/no-evidence-mystery-ufos-alien-051029252.html?.tsrc=fp_deeplink
There is no evidence that unexplained aerial phenomena spotted in recent years by US military personnel are aliens, an upcoming government report quoted by The New York Times Thursday said, but officials still can't explain the mysterious aircraft.
The newspaper, which cited senior administration officials briefed on the findings of the highly anticipated report, said they were able to confirm the unusual vessels were not the product of secret Pentagon technology.

Re: Weird reality
Be advised that there are instances where military fighter jet engaged these things and always lost.
They either had them on their tail and couldn't shake them, or in at least once instance the jet and
pilot were lost and never found. That happened over Virginia and the F100 had launched out of
Andrews AFB. I have read the reports and listened to radio tapes.

Re: Weird reality
Considering the technology that they seem to posses, I surely would not risk P...ing them off. If they meant us any harm, they could have taken us out long ago.
My thoughts are; how can we be so ignorant to think, given how vast we know space to be, and the galaxies out there, that we are the only inteligent life that exists?
To me it would be rather arrogant to think we are alone.
As far as someone suggested to shoot one down, or even use them for target practice is rediculous! Almost like sticking your finger in a Hornet's nest to kill the Queen!!

Re: Weird reality
We really won't know what they are until one is recovered. What I find strange is that nothing has leaked out about any of our space craft being observed or tampered with on Mars or the Moon. Nothing about any pictures of strange craft zipping around the Martian sky. If we are being observed by other advanced beings I'm sure they are watching our space explorations.

True Forty; and to stir the pot a little more, add this to the current argument over the origins of Covid-19.fortyshooter wrote: βFri Jun 04, 2021 11:45 amWe really won't know what they are until one is recovered. How about this theory.... a new thing to do 50+ years in the future which is hyper drones that you can send back in time and control to have fun with! We catch one and find "Made in China" on the bottom
