Nine Enfields
I sold the last nine remaining Enfields that I had. Cabelas really stepped up to the plate to get these. My last trip here I only sold three of ten I bought in but negotiated a price I would accept on two SA wheels I bought in last Sunday. I’ll bring them in next Sunday.

Glad to see you got a deal you were comfortable with. Unfortunately you hate to see them go, but hopefully they will bring joy to their new owner.

Re: Nine Enfields
Good that you can see them all at once. Must have been quite the collection.
Re: Nine Enfields
Good for you Gene. Now is a great time to sell and if anyone is thinking about thinning the heard better jump on it. I took three more over today.

Re: Nine Enfields
I have a standing appointment twice a week to bring in 6 to 10 firearms each time. The prices they are offering is a true 65 to 70% of their retail. On firearms that I expect to go for more than $500 I might sell online. Below that price it’s not worth my time to get the extra 35%.
The appraiser is a nice guy and knows his stuff. It took them about 2.5 hours to appraise the nine rifles.
I’m just happy to be able to liquidate them and make more room. I might even be able to sell a safe or two when I’m done.

I’ve laid all the pistols out on the bed and the rifles are leaning up against the walls. I’ve never had all of them out of the safes before. The keepers which are mostly Henrys and CZs are still in safes.North Country Gal wrote: ↑Wed Mar 24, 2021 7:58 pmGood that you can see them all at once. Must have been quite the collection.

Re: Nine Enfields
Are you getting the prices you want? Some gun stores only offer 10 to 30 percent of retail. At least that was the case a decade ago. I think that was the last time I took one in to sell.

The place I am taking them to is selling them for me and then I pay them to sell them for me. I have been often getting more than I paid for the gun originally. They are selling most of them on Gunbroker. It makes it easy for me because I dont need the hassle of shipping them and wondering if the shipping clerk knows the rules about shipping fiearms.

I’ve done the same thing in years past but now I just want them gone and the extra 35% is not going to change my life. In this case all nine rifles were bought for between $50 and $100 with bayonets. I sold the bayonets for about $50 each. So I only have on average $25 into them. They sold for $200 to $360 each.
Boxes aren’t cheap and the gas to take then to the UPS terminal would mount up. But the big factor is it’s not a 40 hour a week job for the next six months. That is really what it would take. Compare that to eight hours a week for two months.
In the meantime I’m remodeling my kitchen and working on the backyard range and very soon I’m going to be getting a lot more quality trigger time.
