Paper Targets And Grading

Post by Sir Henry » Tue Mar 16, 2021 12:08 am

These are the targets I’ve selected for air guns in my backyard. The air gun specific targets are: 10 meter air pistol, 10 meter air rifle, 15 foot air rifle, and a 10 meter air rifle training. The 75 foot target is for small bore rifle.

These were selected because these are the distances measured out. Having the correct target for distance and discipline helps me really see how I’m doing.

This is a good example. My score was 23 (3 fives and 1 eight). The objective is to not only get a tight group but to also have it zeroed which in this case I failed (first day of shooting the QB78). If it had been zeroed I might have scored an 85. My goal is to be able to score a true 97 repeatedly. This math works on all of the targets regardless of the black. Some score all the way down to 1 and others stop at 4 and 5.

I really feel I can get these scores prone and benchrest. Offhand and I’m all over the place.

Looks pretty dang good there, Gene. I need to get my air pistol out & start that again. Good practice.
I rarely ever buy a rifle, but when I do, it's a Henry.

Thanks. I wish I could go to a centerfire range daily but I can’t. I plink almost everyday now even though I may not report it.
