Looking at a silencer purchase....

Post by fortyshooter » Wed Mar 03, 2021 9:33 am

For my HiPoint .45 ACP Carbine and like the Banish 45 that Silencer Central offers along with their program where they handle the paperwork for a Trust.
Anyone purchase one thru SC? I know it takes 8 months or more for the ATF to process the background check but in the end a nice setup.

Never owned a silencer, but 8 mos to process the paperwork is
ridiculous. Shouldn't take over 5 mins.
I rarely ever buy a rifle, but when I do, it's a Henry.

Thought about it, but I could not come up with a good reason to have one.

No personal experience, but a good friend had Silencer Central set one up for him. Although he complained about how long the process took (he's sort of a whiner anyway), he was happy with the end result when he received his silencer. If you really want one, I'd say go for it. Just be patient.

Yeah it's the Feds that drag the process out to most likely deter most folks from obtaining one. Anyway I have started the process and maybe it will show up for Christmas!

That's 95% of the reason. They would prefer you not have one.

I agree also, but I know not so many years back that it actually took closer to 12 mons. to get one.
Hope you get yourself a nice Christmas present buddy.

This is what local guys around here have reported. I was surprised to hear your wait was 8 months.

Well Silencer Central quoted 7-9 months so we will see how it all works out. Like RR says "No rush it will get here when it does" !
