Re: Chainsaw - Log to boards
Pretty neat, I saw that somewhere sometime back.
Also saw one in a store in Pigeon Forge Tn. Looked like a circular saw with a chain attached. $150.
Either way, better than back in the good old days.

I rarely ever buy a rifle, but when I do, it's a Henry.

Re: Chainsaw - Log to boards
I have a lot of downed trees right now and would love to do this, but not sure I can physically do it anymore.
I used to have several friends who came and cut firewood, but they're getting too old now as well.
Getting old sucks.

Re: Chainsaw - Log to boards
I really like stuff like that. It's a great novelty, hobby, even adventure.
But like I was more or less indicating the other day on the subject, even with the high Lumber prices out there, it still doesn't beat it economically. For an example, my neighbor builds sheds for a living. He has a sawmill right outside his door that he ran for years. About 8 years ago, he shut it down and starting buying Lumber instead. Even with the higher prices now, his sawmill is still quiet.
Now if Lumber ever gets real crazy...
And I have some Timber, lol !!

Not a 2x4 but a Cedar 4x4 fence post. Holy redwoods Batman they were like 25.00 each. I like watching Mountain Men on the history channel. Those guys know there chainsaws.

Yes. I just checked it again to see what the current market is and it is still doubled. I was paying $3 and now it is $6 for a premium stud.cooperhawk wrote: ↑Wed Mar 03, 2021 9:56 amHave you priced a two by four lately.Cowboy Gun Fan wrote: ↑Wed Mar 03, 2021 9:34 amNow if Lumber ever gets real crazy...

Covid was a convenient excuse to raise the prices of everything and watch how the prices tend to stay higher. And then the rising cost of oil will cause a bump too. More construction going on too....supply and demand.

They say one of the reasons is the virus and one of the virus reasons is people staying home and investing in their own home projects, back yards, etc many using their stimulus money to pay for it. Good 'ol Demand is way up.
