Ours is pretty much over as well, after tonight anyway, low around 10.
Tomorrow's high will be 41° and then 53° on Sun. 60's by mid week.

We got another inch or so here last night. Now we are looking at fast melting snow. Temps are projected to be in the upper 30s and 40s the next couple of weeks.
It's funny how good these temps feel after a deep freeze.
I never take myself seriously....

I commented in another thread of how warm my double cab Ram 2500 felt yesterday afternoon. I hadn't felt that warm since that Ice Age began. Central gas heat is usually warm, but it couldn't cut it. Today is sunny and bright heading close to 70* this afternoon. Incidentally, I did make it to Braum's Ice Cream store and got all of us a Heath Bar chocolate yogurt mix. Sure was good! first outside food we had in a week.

Mine has 98% all melted, got a bit on the North side of the house, where the sun doesn't visit all that often.

Pretty much the same over here Grunt. 60 yesterday, and upper 50's today sure helped.
Low to mid 60's the next couple should just about take care of it.

I've been playing "whack-a-mole" in the attic of my home. Every time I fix a leak and turn on the water, there's another one. I don't go up every day since my 67 yr old body can't take it. Still don't have running water in the house but do have access to water because I put a shut off valve just after the main service line goes to a hose bib outside the garage. It' s getting old trucking water into the home in 5 gal buckets to flush, sponge bathe, and just everything else. The claims rep finally called me on Monday. He said the adjuster would get to me within 4 weeks! Yikes! I asked him about it and he said there were so many people in the same situation I was 149th in the queue. All I'm trying to do is patch things up to get water in the home and I think I'm on #'s 19 and #20. The pipes were really stressed out and the water pressure is finding the weak spots. The best news is that the major hardware stores are finally getting some plumbing supplies back on the shelves. I went to the nearest Home Depot yesterday to find something to fix the two more leaks I found yesterday morning. Praise to the deity that you worship! They had pallets of shark bites in all sizes in the main aisle! No copper pipe though. I did find 24" sections of Pex that will work with the shark bites though. It's been a rough week. Sponge baths aren't all they're cracked up to be.

We have electricity. Ours was out for 26 hours last week during the hard freeze. It went out Sunday or Monday morning (I forget which one) around 7:00 a.m. and came on the next day around 9:00 a.m. There were folks out for three and four days though. Just got through fixing two leaks. One I used a shark bite connector and the other I soldered in.

I am glad to report we now have running water. It's a patchwork job for sure but seems to be holding! Now I hope the insurance adjuster comes through with a whole house re-pipe. I saved the copper tubing I cut out to show him the problem.

Good news Shakey. Glad to hear things are looking up. I hope you stay well and you get that re-piping that you need.

Yes, and hopefully some insulation in between the pipes and the roof or wherever needed to keep them from freezing in the attic next time. Never heard of pipes run through the attic before but it seems reasonable in warm climates.

Finally got generator fixed and started, new carburetor was needed. It took a while to find one and get delivered. But 3 weeks after I needed it, it runs now.

Well done, you have just prevented any more power outages in your area for at least a year.

That’s the way I roll too.

PS, I just now noticed your signature line quoting Tuco. I sure enjoyed Breaking Bad and do hope Better Call Saul comes back.
