The stock market sure has been on a rollercoaster. The GameStop short squeeze sure didn’t make any sense and now the Dow is at a record high despite the P/E ratio of most stocks.

Speculation is driving the market and not earnings. I think there is a little bit more room for the markets to rise but eventually the dividends won’t justify the high prices and a crash will follow.

But what do I know I’m just an average guy.

I redeemed about a third of my holdings early in January expecting a downturn. If I’m wrong that’s even better because it means I’ve made more money. My IRA has gained 141% from 2017 to 2021. Not bad for a mutual fund.

It’s time I cashed in and enjoyed the fruits of my labor.
