Deer camoflage.

Post by cooperhawk » Tue Feb 02, 2021 6:32 pm

Can you find the deer in this photo. I guarantee you there are two looking right at you
less than fifteen yards away.
I will post a picture with them circled tomorrow.

I think I see them just to the left and the right of the boulder that is to right of the tree, if it is a boulder, only thing I can say for sure is that there are some trees in the photo.

Two of the leaves aren’t leaves. They are deer.

And only trees, as far as my eyes see.

I don't see them because I've fallen asleep again in my tree stand.

I had to look hard myself to find them again and I just took this photo yesterday.
There are four or five does that bed down just behind my shop quite often.
They don't even run away when I go up the steps to the shop.

It is indeed a boulder. The great glacier stopped right near our home and left us a collection of very large stones.
I have one in my back yard and two large ones on each side of our driveway entrance.
The one in the back yard we tried to lift with a ten thousand pound bucket and couldn't budge it. Had to push into place.
BTW, global warming started when that ice left my yard thousands of years ago.

OK, the one on the left is easier. It is a standing doe and if you look closely you can make out the outline of her ears
and then follow it down. You can see her face and legs.
The one on the right is lying down and is harder to make out.

I can just make out their faces but can not see their bodies or legs. They are nowhere near where I originally thought.
