Christmas Spirit

Post by Headhog » Sun Dec 13, 2020 4:12 pm

Every year the local group we ride motorcycles with adopts a needy family and tries to make their Christmas holiday a brighter. This year out group chaplain was able to get us a family from the Angle Tree at his church. The family has 3 young children ages 8, 4 and 10 months. We set today as our delivery day for the gifts. Below are some pictures of our group members that could make the ride today. We had about a dozen other members that contributed gifts and gift cards, but couldn't make the ride. So glad we could do this.

We took this picture before the family arrived. This is in front of Sandy Creek Baptist church, where Sunshine attends and got the families name from. I'm in the back row on the right with my wife holding my right arm. Sunshine, out chapter chaplain, is in the front row on the left.

These are our motorcycles. Mine is hidden behind the blue Harley in the foreground. My wife's is the white Harley on the right.

My VFW Post has taken on three projects this Christmas. One was to provide gifts for children of deployed military in our area, which we did with over $500.00 plus many more in donations, two was for a family who lost their Father, a vet, to cancer, over $500.00 to that, and the last to a family of six who lost everything in a fire two weeks ago, we raised over $1300.00 for them.

I'm really proud of these vets and all the folks who donated. :D

There is still charity in this world.

Additional pictures of the family from my wife's phone.

The 4 year old was so excited because he kept calling my wife's bike a police motorcycle. The 4 year old sitting on my wife's bike:

Yup nice job. Makes a guy feel good to when he can do something like that. I love the feeling that giving gives.

Thanks folks. This is one of the reason my wife and I joined the Cruisers when we moved here. We also just helped with the local Toys For Tots campaign.
