Zippo To The Rescue
I filled my zippos today and took them to the range today. I have one for each pocket. Best invention since sliced bread.
For 20 cents each they provide warmth for about 16 hours.

Re: Zippo To The Rescue
You know, not that you mention it, I think I still have one or two somewhere in the gun cabinet.
Good idea.
I also know an ex Marine who brings his ice fishing tent and sets it up over the shooting rest complete
with the heater inside. All you see is a rifle barrel sticking out.

Re: Zippo To The Rescue
That is the big downside. These warmers can’t be filled and stored. In the picture you see a little measuring cup. If you overfill them they leak.

Re: Zippo To The Rescue
first time I've ever seen a measuring cup for them ... having one would sure have come in handy ... I'd just squirt fluid until the cotton filled tank was full .... as I know now, that was a mistake

Re: Zippo To The Rescue
Not a smoker here, but from what a few friends have said.
Zippo's were usually pretty good about Not leaking, but that most other brands would.
I have this old hand warmer, never used it.
And I do have an old JC Higgins 35 Rem. made by Marlin for Sears.

Never new about the measuring cup either and had the same thing happen to my leg. That burn was a nasty one to.

I usually use 2. I put on a heavy flannel shirt with 2 breast pockets put the warmers in then a jacket on. Good for the day.

Re: Zippo To The Rescue
That’s a nice Higgins. I have one also. It doesn’t burn as clean as the zippo but the zippos are new and the Higgins is 50 to 70 years old.Vaquero wrote: ↑Wed Dec 02, 2020 10:56 amNot a smoker here, but from what a few friends have said.
