This is truly sad. My wife and I watched Jeopardy regularly and admired him for his on camera ease and gentlemanly demeanor. I still watch it most every evening. In the form of a question; who will be sorely missed by millions of Jeopardy fans? The correct answer, Alex Trebek, one of the very best TV personalities.

I just heard. He was the greatest and sure will be missed as you have mentioned.

So happens to be my favorite game show. Watch it almost every night.

It was amazing on not only how great he looked, but how he was still as sharp as ever in his latest shows.

May he RIP. Job well done Alex.

A gentleman and a scholar for sure. In addition to Jeopardy I have had the pleasure to catch a few interviews with him and he always was as kind and genuine being interviewed as he was hosting the show.

RIP Mr. Trebek

He was a truly classy television host. I enjoyed his show because of him mostly.

I think...just as they retire jersey numbers of some Hall of Fame sports greats, that the network should just cancel Jeopardy in his honor. NOBODY can fill his shoes!!
We will miss him!!!

As popular as Jeopardy is I doubt the network would cancel it without trying it with a replacement.

From a article on CNN
"Another frequently rumored replacement is Ken Jennings, the winningest and perhaps the most famous Jeopardy contestant of all time. The show hired Jennings in the fall as a consulting producer and brand ambassador, but it stopped short of naming him as Trebek's replacement."

Takes a bit for the Jeopardy video to start, have to watch a short ad

Sad day. Alex was a Canadian I’m proud to say. Ken Jennings would be a worthy candidate, but nobody will ever fill those shoes. If anyone other than Ken tries, it will be a very difficult (and perhaps ambitious) task. I’m sure if Ken has been working on the show, Alex would have made his preference for him to take the wheel known, if that is the case.
