Hurricane Delta
thoughts and prayers for folks in the path of Cat 3, 120 mph sustained wind Hurricane Delta .... those along the Gulf who have already been hammered this season by a series strong storms need to take the precautions that they've come to know so well

Re: Hurricane Delta
Wow! CAT3? Hadn't heard that. Folks down there don't deserve this after the ones they've already endured.
Prayers offered for them.

Re: Hurricane Delta
according to what we've seen on the weather reports, the highest storm surge is expected in parts of south-central Louisiana, not just near the immediate Gulf Coast, but also in bays, inlets and to some degree inland along rivers and bayous inundation could reach 7 to 11 feet above ground in these areas .... in some of these areas, flooding may take days to recede, not just from storm surge, but also from rain-swollen rivers and bayous temporarily backed up unable to drain effectively to the Gulf .... in looking at the forecasted chances of rain over the next couple of days we are bound to get wet but they aren't calling for any flooding
Re: Hurricane Delta
Supposed to get quite a bit of rain from it, nothing serious, here.

Yep, rain bands and possible spin up tornadoes & thunderstorms started here about 6 hours ago. Same as always this time of year.

Re: Hurricane Delta
Did I miss something? I looked at the radar this morning and the storm is well inland. It must have moved rather quickly.
Turned on Fox news and they're playing some stupid word game and no word on storm damage.
I we so used to this type disaster that we just go, "Ho Hum"?

Re: Hurricane Delta
Another thing, aren't the storms named in alphabetical order? Delta is far from the fourth storm of the season.
