Where did all the wildlife go?
This has been a slow season as far as getting some good videos off my trail cameras down at my range property. I used to see a good gathering of turkeys this time of year along with deer, fox and even raccoons. But last camera check after 2 weeks was only couple squirrels and now somebody's hounds running along my trails.
Have had a couple new homes go up on what was a 50 acre area of woods across the road and they tend to let their dogs run loose and think that's the problem with the lately scarce wildlife in my area. Also there has been a good bit of clear cutting timber harvesting going on nearby which could be a factor as well.
Miss seeing the variety of critters that used to hang out around my place and my neighbor's area next to it.

I'll agree about the dogs, they are probably keeping them run off.

Dogs running loose are definitely a problem for wildlife. In our state, that will get you a visit and a ticket from the game warden and rightly so.

If you let your dogs run across farmland here....
... Too many calves, goats, sheep. You are responsible for your animals.
It's accepted they might not come home. A lot of the cattle herds have donkeys mixed in.
Our dogs STAY on the farm.

Agree on the dogs, & more people. Same situation here. When I first moved here, there was only one other house besides mine. Saw deer on a regular basis. Now all the open land is covered in houses, people, dogs, cats. Deer are rarely seen on my camera. Cats get the rabbits.
In Tn, it's illegal to allow animals of any kind to roam at large. Hardly ever prosecuted, most people aren't aware of the law.

I rarely ever buy a rifle, but when I do, it's a Henry.

All the deer and turkeys just roam in the suburbs were dogs are more controlled and plenty of food around. Lots of woods in our city neighborhood and
deer are always around.
deer are always around.

No shortage around here. Black bears, grizz, see elk every day. Deer are everywhere. We get turkeys once in awhile. Lots of bears this year.

We're deep in a hard wood forest and we see wild life every day. Right now our most frequent visitors are a pair of late birthed fawns.
Still spotted. They eat Carol's Hostas. We spray them but then it rains and they come right in and eat them again.
