Re: Swift Creek Dam before and after pictures....
its pretty dry here in east central South Dakota .... we've been following the rain back home in central NC and they do have some flooding to deal with .... with Hurricane season cranking up, it could really present a problem

That's a lot of power there. Surprising how long they will let dams go before they think about repairing them ahead of a disaster. My fellow dive shop divers and I used to get calls to go under and check our dams around here for any cracks and or repairs being needed. Some were in pretty bad shape. It was tough to give a good accurate report though because the water was often dark and zero visibility so you would have to just feel your way along the dam.

Things quieting down now and water levels dropping. The old historic Swift Creek Mill which has been a dinner theater for some years got
first floor flooded as it sits right next to the creek.
We get a break in the rain for a couple days then more is on the way! Wettest first 2 weeks of August in a long time around here.

We were fine but a few homes along the creek area had some flooding. We are located other end of town up on a hill above the river.North Country Gal wrote: ↑Sun Aug 16, 2020 8:14 pmHope you're not in the way of danger, should that damn give way.
Water levels slowly going back down unless we get some heavy storms later this week.
