Member meet and greet?
Member meet and greet?
Hello, as you can see by my join date and post count I am new around here... A question for those of you that have been around longer, do we have enough members in a particular geographic area to arrange for a meet and greet? Maybe a member shoot at a local range? I would love to join or help arrange one for Southern California.

Re: Member meet and greet?
I am not in CA but I have met other shooters in my former state back east (My indoor and outdoor ranges AND at Camp Perry events.), out here in Western Montana, in another state close to my former state and out in Colorado.
I did this with my late husband, other close gun/political friends that I knew well and trusted and with my husband who was born and raised out here in Montana.
We have had events back east and out west but not for a few years now due to my husband's CRAZY work schedule. He is close to retirement and I would like to plan one event out here or back east with some of our old friends.
Most likely it will be held in Western Montana due to the gun laws and due to some of the people coming from other states if their schedule allows it. Most of them are now retired or CLOSE to retirement as he is.
Here is my range:

Now if I end up selling this house that I built and build one up north... we will join a range up there but still KEEP this membership close to our home in Missoula.
I hope that you can find or START a group near you. Do you shoot on BLM land or at a range most of the time?

Re: Member meet and greet?
I typically shoot at a local range. My favorite is called Burro Canyon and is in the Angeles forest. They rent private ranges that are up to 100 yards long and allow for a lot of flexibility in how you use the range that day.
BLM land is generally a long drive from where I live in Orange County. I recently went with some friends to a spot near Barstow in the desert and had a lot of fun.
Southern California is so densely populated it can be tough to find a lot of space to shoot.
