Henry goes racing..

Post by ChefDuane » Tue Jul 14, 2020 10:18 pm

Was flipping through the channels and saw a snippet of the IndyCar race at Road America this past weekend and saw Henry logos all over the place! I guess they have signed a deal with IndyCar last year. I did see a couple car logos although I did not catch the teams. I was involved in IndyCar many years back as a sponsor and went to the 500 some 10 years running. We went 1 - 2 in '97 with Treadway Racing with Luyendyk and Scott Goodyear. Got to know Scott pretty well.

Back in 70's, 80's would camp out on Indy weekends at Road America. Nice camp grounds just down the road. Would walk to the track. Great track for viewing. Could get up close and personal. Now it is all civilized and you can't get close to the track.

Interesting market to promote the brand.

The problem with racing is there isn't much real racing left. No individual ingenuity allowed as in all cars the same except for decals.
Miss the old days of racing excitement!

As far as Henry advertising goes, interesting that it's in Indy, but the way I understand it, no more in Nascar.

I lived in the Chicago area for 20 years. We used to go to Road America in Elkhart Lake every year for the June Sprints.
Like the Wiz said, we would camp out for the weekend. Was a lot of fun!
Nice to see Henry involved now.

I wonder how long the signs on the ground will last before a car hits them (see link)?

Open wheel does draw a different crowd that NASCAR. When I ran our IndyCar sponsorship program it was more geared towards getting other execs to the race and in our suite so we could market (schmooze) them.
