Mom's House Sold
Well, got word this afternoon that mom's house sold. Closing will be Aug 14. That means I've got until that time to get all the furniture, stove, fridge, and micro gone. I was kind of hoping that a young couple might purchase it and want the furniture. I'll try to sell what I can and guess have the rest brought back to Tx or donate. I wish I had a need for it but I've got a house full already. I contacted some estate sales people but they can't seem to get it done before September. This is the last hurdle to jump.

As if the loss of a dear soul isn't enough to endure, there's the world of stuff to deal with, too. Good luck with it, Jake.

I remember doing those things Jake. I wish I had a crystal ball back then, I would have saved plenty for the step son's new place, but who knew.
Good luck with it. Hopefully it goes well. I donated plenty and it felt good to do that.

Re: Mom's House Sold
My Brother and his wife died just a year before my Mother died. We had two houses to empty and get sold. I found it extremely hard to empty my Brothers house as I felt like I was spying on their lives. The my Mom's house as well. Thank God for my Wife who handled it a lot better than I.
So many things that they cherished were sold at auction for pennies on the dollar. It was so bad that we kept some of the nicer stuff although we didn't need it. It was hard.
Just bow down and get it done. It will hurt for sure, but you'll get over it.
BTW, all proceeds went to cover medical bills and in the end there wasn't enough for that either.
