If you follow Daytime Dave's orange banner shooting suggestion on Labor Day, we would all enjoy seeing a bunch of Range Reports posted next week. Safe shooting, safe travel, enjoy your family, and have a refreshing holiday!

Plan is to head north for some dove aiming. I get away from the "dove crowds" and go to a couple of creeks in Ca.'s Owen's Valley. Usually have the area to myself, but, it is Labor Day weekend, sooo......, still going.

Seems like a plan!

I guess mine will be spent hunkering down for the storm. And I was looking forward to a nice 3 days off. Wondering if the Three Dog Night concert will go off as scheduled this coming Saturday?

Understood, and sorry about that, Clovishound. Back in 1989 my daughter planned/took
her first vacation to the Outer Banks. She loves the seashore. She got there from IL just
in time to load up and head inland with the family she was to stay with! Hurricane Hugo was in the neighborhood and spent time along the coast of the Carolinas. It reached a Cat 5 level. My daughter never got to the beach that vacation.

I was here in Charleston during Hugo. It made a direct hit. I can remember walking outside briefly during the eye. It was absolutely devastating. All the roads in the area were completely impassible due to downed trees. Power was out for a month for some folks. It took the better part of a decade to cover over much of the damage to trees and such.

Returned home about an hour or so ago. There were people camped where I planned to chase dove[and did!] Four in the a.m., six, found five in the evening. Weather is so much better there than heading down towards Blythe area. Too hot, 110+, high 80's at night and humid. Taboose Crk was 91F during the day, between 58-61 at night. Perfect! Not as many birds, I didn't care. Had fun and got out with my shotgun. My Mossberg 930 Field. Worked flawlessly. Putting things away, wife ordered me to shower up, then baseball and a couple beers! Ahhh!
