Fourth of July -- Significant History

It always comes as a kind of a surprise when I turn the calendar to another month. July starts tomorrow, and one-half of 2019 will be over and done. Of course, the 4th of July holiday/celebration will be here in almost the blink of an eye.

Here is a reminder of this important time of our American history. Sure would like to someday see this large oil painting by John Trumbull as it hangs in our U.S. Capitol Rotunda. I bet some of you have visited there during your travels.

If things didn't work out, the painting wouldn't have been the only thing hanging. These guys had some guts, something sadly missing today.

Enjoyed the history we saw in DC..
Williamsburg..
and the rest.
Wish I could do more of it.
You can tell a lot about the character of a man...
by the way he treats those who can do nothing for him.
I don't look back at the things I can no longer do, I just look forward to the things I still can.
