been there and do hate it when it happens .... a tree that size would make a dandy speed bump for going through there on a 4-wheeler

Yeah the top half fell off last year and a recent storm took care of the rest.
Luckily my trail cam was on a tree just ahead of where it fell.

5 minutes with a chainsaw will take care of that. :) When you live out in the woods, you have to deal with the trees. ;)

Often carry a chainsaw on the 4wheeler for just such occasions. Been known to clear downed trees from the county roads here long before the county workers could get here.

I had a nice Stihl with an 18" bar for use around the farm. We heated with a wood stove for years. But once that femur went, the Doc said absolutely not. Miss T knows me well. She gave the chainsaw to a friend with orders he was to NEVER loan it back.
You can tell a lot about the character of a man...
by the way he treats those who can do nothing for him.

I don't look back at the things I can no longer do, I just look forward to the things I still can.

I have 50 acres of this kind of stuff to care for, but it's a labor of love, and I don't live there.
There are no structures on that 50 acres aside from a couple of hastily constructed shoot shacks.
This is strictly hunting property, but keeping the trails clear is a MUST.

Dragging a deer out from the bottom land would take a 20 mule-team.
Instead, I use a 1939 Ford 9N tractor, but it won't go over a log like that.

I don't live there either but enjoy when I get there. Just another item to take care of before I sling some lead!
