A small project for trap

Picked this Mossberg 500 up from a friend, he had 2 and gave me my choice !! I've decided on the older one with no stock. I bought it right with a rifled slug barrel, 12ga BTW. Been shooting trap for a few months now with a Winchester semi auto that only holds 2+1, so I have to stop and reload. Wanted a pump for a while and this should be the ticket.
Bid on a barrel today with a nice looking stock. 28" accuchoke should hit the birds. Once I get a barrel, I will probably reblue it, function first.

USPS got here early !!
Put it all together, had to make a spacer for the forearm stock, but made it work. A good cleaning some Balistol and she's slicker than greased owl poop :D
28" vent rib accu choke & 20" rifled slug barrel for less than $250.00 !!
Was thinking of refinishing, but realized the receiver is aluminum, touched up scratches and the rest is "patina" !!
Now some dry weekends and I'll try it out on some clays ;)

Just curious if anyone knew you can't blue aluminum. I thought so, but verified that blueing salts will dissolve aluminum !! FYI
Anodized is the usual process.
I just touched mine up with car paint, it's a shooter anyway, hopefully.

Birch wood Casey sells aluminum black. I haven't used it so I don't know how good it is.

Got to try it out today, it performs much better than the nut behind the butt.
Nice day and had fun though. I'll get a range report on soon.
