Frederick Beesley Boxlock SxS 20 Bore

Post by Rampant Colt » Tue Aug 26, 2025 12:50 pm

Here’s my 1928 F. Beesley Boxlock in 20 bore. S/N is 2700. Latest S/N I can verify is 2733 before his death in 1928.

Mr. Beesley invented the auto-opening action while he was working for Purdey. Mr. Purdey promptly bought the rights to it, paying Beesley a handsome sum, enough so that he was able to open his own shop at 498 Kings Road in London.

I have removed the Silver’s recoil pad and replaced it with the original.

Collecting Colts is a cruel and shallow money trench, a long plastic hallway where thieves and pimps run free and good men die like dogs. There’s also a negative side.
