The Improved Cyl., although I doubt it would make a difference for sight in. The Modified tightens up a bird or buckshot spread a little is all. If/when you put a brake on it, you should probably verify sight in. Also, I'd recommend putting a small dot of blue loctite on the choke threads to keep it from backing out. The blue is just strong enough to hold it in, but not so strong that it's difficult to swap out.

Nice optic, btw. :)

Ok, thanks. I just wasn't sure if you could shoot slugs through a modified choke. I'd like to keep the same choke tube for both 00 and slugs.
Thx for the info and compliment👍🏻

I've used Brenneke Green Lightning with both chokes with no problems. Don't know about Fosters, but as long as they are rifled slugs, they should be ok. The rifling gives the lead someplace to go when it's compressed by the choke, but there is a limit to that. I'd avoid copper or nickle plated slugs. They might be ok, but might not be. Unwarranted risk for little benefit, imho.

Plated 00, etc. is ok and individual pellets are less likely to get deformed when fired, so you get a somewhat better/tighter pattern at 15yds or more. Plated shot is more expensive than lead tho. Personally, I can't justify the higher cost.

Finally got the tavor ts12 to the range. I must say it was fun. I was using 2 3/4" 00 buck at 25 yds, into a small rifle target.
I had 2 FTF, & 3 FTE out of 50 rounds. There's a learning curve to these things. The recoil in my opinion is light. Sure 50 rds pushing buckshot is never pleasant, but I was wishing I'd brought more ammo. Barrel and choke got leaded up pretty good. I also found the gas valve and piston to be quite dirty. Didn't take long to clean up. I did experience a problem trying to put the gas valve retaining clip on though. Note to self, the gas valve has a flat spot on the bottom, and it most be located as such, or it wont snap in.
Can't wait to get some more ammo.
I was also testing a new Radical Firearms RF15. Super nice little cheap mil spec AR.

The TS12 can be a little picky about ammo until you get a hundred or so rounds thru it. What did you have the gas piston set at?

I had it on the low setting Gunny. It started running real good after the 1st 25 rounds. I should have brought some of my low brass 1200 fps trap loads. Wasn't thinking. I do know one thing though; it's a keeper.

Yep. I won't be getting rid of mine either - cold dead hands, etc. :) Next trip load up some slugs.

My LGS was closed today on the way to the range, bad planning on my part, but yes I really want to try out some slugs.
I need a range bag or case for this weapon.

I thought about a case or bag also, but since I don't go anyplace to shoot other than my own property, I didn't think it would be used enough to justify the cost. Looked at this one, which seems pretty nice, and not all that expensive for what you get. Don't know anything about the company.
