I like the 745 myself, but was never able to own one. Wasn't that the one that originally had the "dragon scales" on the slide and looked so wicked, appearing on the cover of American Handgunner?
As far as the course goes, I figure this is another of those "Base" courses, written so those small "few men" departments can afford the time and ammo to meet state standards, and the larger departments can build on it, adding more rounds, movement, longer range, etc. With Wyoming being such a wide, open, state with many areas having low concentrations of population, I guess it might make sense.

Oops, the one on the cover of Handgunner was the Performance Center 945. The 745 is still a nice pistol, would love to try one sometime.

Yep. You beat me to it. I always wanted a 945, but never found one when I had the spare cash to plunk down. Still, if I ever come across a nice one, I may pick it up as a companion for my 745.

Nice shooting as always Howard. The 745 is a beautiful gun. I like my 645, but your 745 takes the looks award. It was interesting that you were penalized for missing.

I always thought more departments should since each round that goes astray could mean innocents might pay. However, points are dear to many during qualification, and those counting pennies look at the ammo costs, and overtime for two each time an officer had to repeat qualification runs. (Three if they have to run a single range for him.)
I mentioned a two point deduction for misses outside the B27, based on the liability issue. The chief dismissed it out of hand. "They lost the points, leave it at that."
