36 caliber
.... while I'm perfectly happy looking at a picture, I'm equally sure someone will buy it

Re: Original Colt
It certainly is unique. Not my cup of tea either. If I had the dough, there's other things on the bucket list....

AND too many numbers! To Much Bling for this ole Cowboy.
I respect the originality and provenance however in reality this thing is really kind of ugly, in my eyes anyway.
Pluto History was running a marathon of the 'American Guns' series early this morning and I watched a couple episodes - including the one where the guy came in with a 'original' Colt Dragoon and Walker.
Long story short RIch (the owner) made an offer contingent on the authenticity of the guns so two historians from Colt traveled to Colorado to authenticate them.
The Dragoon turned out to be authentic but the Walker was a fake, made from an early Italian repro.
Unfortunately the owner couldn't accept this and did not believe the experts and left dissatisfied but such is life.
I also saw on another show once a similar scenario where a Walker was determined to be a faked repro.

Re: Original Colt
I guess before anybody spent that kind of money you would want it authenticated by some museum or something. I have seen those style grips for sale for modern guns, not sure why anyone would want them.
