After watching Howards' great video on his favorite gun of 2019, thought it would make an interesting post so we can all share our favorite gun that we acquired in 2019. Thank-you Howard for the idea.

If you didn't acquire any guns in 2019, go ahead and add a favorite purchase prior to that. Let's see your favorite, folks!

Here's my favorite acquisition in 2019. It's the new in the box, Old Model, Ruger Super Single Six 22 LR/22 Mag Convertible with a 5 1/2" barrel (my fav), made in 1965. (It was unfired when I bought it, but it has been fired, now.)



Lots of reasons I picked this one. First and foremost, I began my handgun shooting career with an Old Model Ruger Single Six that I bought a few years later in 1968, when I was legally old enough to carry a handgun. Tremendous sentimental value, here. Makes for a wonderful walk down memory lane.

Also love these Old Model Ruger single actions. They have the pre-lawyer proof old Colt four click action. Nothing says single action like that C-O-L-T four click action when you pull back that hammer. Then there's the overall fit and finish of these Old Model Rugers that was superior to what is coming out of Ruger, today and this especially includes the trigger. No tuning needed on this one.

Truly a worthy addition to our collection.

Uberti Colt .45 Revolver for western nostalgic reasons.

Great choice, Mags. One of our Uberti 45s was definitely in the running for us.

The favorite 2019 firearm I got was my Traditions Trapper .50cal Cap & Ball Pistol (named ASP). Not only was the SS pistol new, it brought along with it the new-to-me shooting sport of muzzleloading. It was a lot of fun this last half year learning how to reload directly into a barrel and shoot this early-1800s replica BP pistol!

All I can say is...

PT, we've also enjoyed your new adventure into BP. Thanks for sharing.

RR, no surprise on your choice, but I never get tired of seeing that one.

This was a tough decision for me. I have been lucky to have acquired a few firearms for this last year. CZ97, Henry Sidegate 38-55, Ruger PCcarbine in 9mm and 40 S&W. But my favorite is one I was just able to find. Its 50 plus years old and made in Roosevelt,Ut a Green River Rifle Works 54 caliber Leman Indian Trade rifle. Not very many were made with the in the full stock version. I really like it and cant wait to shoot it.

RR favorite was a mystery to me to but that Joker card with it aint no joke that Cowboy can shoot.

The only ones purchased in 2019.

PT if we keep it up with this Black Powder stuff maybe we will drag some of these fine folks into the world of muzzle stuffin. I know NCG has mentioned shes gettin close.

If I was to go down that road with BP...it would have to be an 1847 Colt Walker....

our Henry BBS and Ruger Redhawk 44 Mags .... nothing new .... in fact both well used to tune of tens of thousands of rounds ....

My favorites are my Henry BBB and Ruger NM Blackhawk. Both .45 colt and fun to shoot.

Some of that Outlaw Josey Wales influence there right? Nothin wrong with the Walker there are several sizes avaliable

I bought one new gun in 2019, a 22LR SAA Taylors and Company/Uberti Revolver to pair with the first gun I ever bought, a Henry H001.

Sweet!

Anyone going with BP stuff would not be disappointed, Al. Easy for me to pick the muzzleloader as a favorite, especially with the slowed-down pace of "making smoke."

You guys are making it mighty hard with these beautiful BP guns. Al, that Leman is just drop dead gorgeous.

CT, very similar to one of the Uberti 45 Colts that we also bought this year. It was in the running for me, but the sentimental value of that old Ruger won out. .
