Gun cabinet handgun shelves just filled up to the max today. I added this new Uberti replica revolver.
It's a Remington 1890 Police Revolver in .357 Magnum.

Beautiful revolver, PT7. I'm looking forward to your range report(s). If looks can predict a winner, just the ring alone would say you have one! Regardless, it's an Uberti! That should say it loud and clear, too. Congratulations.

Have always admired that Remington grip style. It's one of the reasons I like the looks of the Ruger Bearcat, which copied that style.


Keep this in mind if you want a miniature version in 22 LR.

Very nice revolver PT7. You are on a tear...

"Remington grip style."

Is it solely because of appearance why you "like" it? Or are there any functional differences/any advantages with the Remington grip? Since I've yet to shoot this revolver, I'm hopeful about one thing. That the distance between back of trigger guard and grip is a little wider than what I had on the Vaquero .357 magnum. The Vaquero grip style was a plow handle grip. Does this Remington grip style have a different name?

Anyway, the Vaquero recoil really beat the trigger guard onto my middle finger. Looking at some pictures of the Vaquero I took versus this 1890 Police, I may be "imagining" a little more space on the 1890 (translates to hope there is).

I DO like the looks of the little Bearcat grip, yes, but given that the Bearcat is such a tiny little SA, it's hard for me to comment on any advantages that grip style might offer. I would have to handle a full size Remington style grip gun to make any comparisons.
