Russian Revolvers --- grip swap

Had some free time last evening, so I polished my Russian Blue top break revolver. As I finished, I wondered what it would look like, if I swapped grips with the Russian Stainless? Since I've decided to use the stainless revolver to rabbit hunt this winter, I plan to let the blued revolver become the "Tsar" of the gun cabinet for a while.

It was a pretty simple and quick adjust. Both sets of grips fit perfectly with the swap. I liked the change. :)
Sure a difference in appearance, and they almost look like new revolvers again!

Here are paired photos of my Russians.

I agree. Think they look better. Especially the SS.

Have always liked the walnut and stainless look, too. The blued and ivory is very nice, though, and as much as I give a nod to stainless for being practical, old traditional me still loves a classic gun in blue. I would have a hard time choosing.

You should have made this a poll PT7 :)

I have to go the other way. I like the original setup.

Not my cup of tea as I'm not a flashy guy but still loved the nickle 1911 with ivory grips.

The blue and walnut is my favorite combination. Would Dirty Harry have been the same with ivory grips?

You be the judge (nod to Paul Harrell) :D

"To go the other way" is really a snap, Henry. If/when I swap them back, I'll have "new" revolvers again.
Still, I'm glad I have only two choices of grips!

BTW, thanks for the intro to Paul Harrell and his firearms vids. I think I may have seen him once or twice before, but never really looked at the choices he has available on youtube. Quite an interesting collection.

Im with Henry88. I like the stock setup. They look great either way to be honest. We all have our preference though. Life would be boring if we all thought the same.
