Here is a fun shooter. It's a Ruger Vaquero birdshead in 45acp. I like it's balance and shooting.

I'm also a fan of the two I have, a 5106 Vaquero in 357/38 and my Heritage Rough Rider in 22LR.

Both guns are a lot fun to shoot, lol.

I'd like to have one myself. Love the Rugers, got a few. Just can't post pics from the phone.

I'd like for Ruger to make this same gun in 357. Why not? They did come out with similar setup on the old Vaquero frame in 44 mag. Pretty cool.

I like these stainless concoctions.

I wanted a regular Vaquero in 45ACP as well, but that wasn't available either, lol.

What I really want was one in 45LC, but the Ammo costs were way outside of my pocket. Then when I realized the 45ACP (approx. half the Ammo cost) was not available, I went with the 357/38. Although I only shoot 38's with it, it brought my Ammo expensive down to about 1/3 of the cost of 45LC.

Now I know some will say to Reload, lol. Maybe someday, but right now I don't have the space or time and not really interested in investing in the cost of it as well, again at this time.

That said, I am totally satisfied shooting the 38 Specials and real glad with the decision to switch. (I'm saving the Brass too, lol)

I hear ya on cost. I've been reloading the past year or so, but I've steered away from certain calibers because of cost. I reload for the 45, but now I need more projectiles!

38 is certainly cheaper comparatively. I reload that and enjoy it even more now! 357 also.

I do like the Vaquero line.

A birdshead grip is my favorite for a SA.

My two Rough Rider .22's for hiking and plinking. Puts me back in the old west, especially when I wear my Stetson.

For self defense I enjoy this old, but reliable .38 special.

Does anyone make a birsdhead DA?

I would like to see a Vaquero in 357.
But..........I handled a Uberti Lightning 357 with a case hardened frame and 4.75" barrel.
Man it was hard to walk away from that beauty. I think I need to save up some bucks for it.
Here is my Uberti Stallion 22 with a 5.5" barrel.

I just post this earlier on a different post before reading this post .
I love my Uberti / Cimarron " P jr" the best of my SA action guns . . These are built on the 7/8 size frame and fit my small hands perfect of all SA guns and they shoot good too .

I know of three of us in the forum that owns the exact same Uberti.

Here my birdsheads I made . Ruger never made them in 32-20 or 44-40. I sold all my birdshead except for the sheriff model in 44-40 which was never made either.

I've never seen a Ruger like that. In .45acp no less. I really like it. Great photograph.
